PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT

With over 38 years of developing, designing, and directing a variety of social service programs I have the experience and expertise to help organizations looking to build and grow programmatically.  The following is a partial list of projects that I have conceptualized, implemented, and supervised.

  • Growth of Womanspace from a support services organization to a clinically sound, professional counseling program
  • The first partnership with a Latino Organization to ensure service to all – Mi Hermana, Mi Amiga which was recognized as a unique and innovative program in Federal literature as a guide encouraging replication.
  • Domestic Violence Victim Response Team creating a model that was used to train law enforcement and Domestic Violence Programs Statewide.
  • Sexual Assault Support Services, integrating with existing programs and engaging and training new crisis volunteers.
  • Deaf Advocacy Project – creating a program that trains Deaf individuals to support Deaf Survivors.  It is only one of eight such programs in the country.

  • Children’s Program, complete with clear outcomes and evaluation measures
  • Two successful Capital Campaigns resulting in a Transitional Housing Program for families and the Children’s Program mentioned above
  • The creation of Barbara’s House, long term transition housing, including the purchase and renovation of a six-apartment building 
  • Eagala program utilizing survivors relationship with horses in the reduction of trauma
  • Healthcare initiative – partnering with Healthcare providers in improving health outcomes for survivors, training health care workers and 3rd year medical students
  • Creation and sustaining a long-term Advisory Council, growing and supporting the agency for the past 15 years
  • The introduction of EMDR for all clinical staff, making it the first non-profit to offer this modality to survivors of trauma
